Clear, objective, and measurable expectations to communicate with your RTM on what success looks like.
By day 30 the RTM should be able to handle some tasks and start to be a little more self-sufficient, but probably asking a lot of questions. By day 60 the RTM should be fairly self-sufficient at handling the tasks covered in initial training and it is time to start thinking about what new tasks on which you want to train them.
(Time tracking, pay, VOIP, video conference, communication etc.)
Make sure your RTM has clear expectations on what success looks like and are receiving feedback so there will not be any surprises in the quarterly review.
By now you should know them well enough to understand their superpowers. To make sure you get the most out of the relationship, they should be spending 80% of their time working in areas of their superpowers.
